The MTU Mathlab is a branch of the Mathematical Sciences department at Michigan Technological University who's goal is to provide computer access and tools to aid in the learning of mathematics. The mathlab is located in Fisher Hall room 331, with extra computer facilities in room 330.
The director of the mathlab is Dr. Allan Struthers, who holds an MS and a PhD in Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon, oversees the operations of the mathlab with the help of lab consultants who are familiar with the operations of the hardware and software in the mathlab.
The primary software used in the mathlab is a program called Mathematica. The college has purchased special rights for current students to be able to download Mathematica to their home computer, free of charge.
